Quarterly network meeting at Barrowby Wood
A quarterly network meeting with festive reflections was held at Barrowby Wood Christmas on 8th December.
It was great to have our quarterly network gathering on 8th December and to have time to relax and reflect on some of the things we have been doing during 2011. Special thanks to Barbara for talking about some of the work she has been around leadership behaviour using the Ofman model. She provoked us into thinking what it takes for us to change our behaviour - and the importance of our emotional rather than an our rational selves in doing this. Festive food and food for thought!
The New Economics Foundation Well-being survey trial
Working in partnership with The New Economics Foundation trialling their new Well-being survey.
During November and December it has been exciting to work in partnership with nef ( The New Economics Foundation) helping to test their new Well-being survey for organisations . The questionnaire which all employees are invited to complete takes a comprehensive look at well-being and engagement areas and produces a detailed report to guide development action. It is rich in detail and easy to use so likely to be of interest to any organisation that is paying attention to well-being. The survey will be available for organisations interested in using it in 2012.
The Trusted Advisor Fieldbook published
The Trusted Advisor Fieldbook, a comprehensive toolkit for leading with trust has just been published.
The Trusted Advisor Fieldbook by Charlie Green and Andrea Howe builds on the highly influential original book ‘Trusted Advisor’ by David Maister, Charlie Green and Robert Galford which explored the importance of trust in advisory relationships. This great new book is full of practical advice for anyone who wants to build stronger trust-based relationships. Julian Powe and Jane Gaukroger work as Trusted Advisor Associates and are looking forward to helping promote the book in the UK.
Changeable to conduct change capabilities inquiry for Higher Education
In 2012 Changeable will be conducting an inquiry into the capabilities needed to support change in the Higher Education sector for the UHR conference in May.
The UK economy desperately needs the innovation, knowledge and capability building provided by the HE sector. This is a time of turbulence – and opportunity - as the new fees regime means HE institutions become more like commercial enterprises and students demand a high quality, high added- value experience. Institutions need to be able to respond flexibly in this environment and are looking to HR to help support change. Our inquiry in early 2012 will focus on what are the capabilities needed to deliver this.
